Things be a-changing in these ‘ere parts! After my trip to Blog Camp yesterday I am inspired and determined to make something out this blogging malarky and sort my bloody life out! So yes, things will be changing! Firstly, my url! Soon(ish…maybe…) you will no longer be able to find me at princessl.co.uk
but you will (if all goes to plan) be able to find me in a zillion different forms at mrsteepot.co.uk
After the incredible speeches from bloggers who are “living the dream,” and some top advice from some PR and design types I’m taking the leap. I am going to do what I love and I’ll be damned if anyone is going to stop me! I’m currently working on a new header and locating a new theme for the new site, I’ve already planned out headings and have layout in my head (if I draw it it will be a disaster!). I have seemingly endless pages of notes on SEO, design, getting yourself out there and everything else blogging related and I am going to make it work!
Apologies for the poor watermarking but it’s 1:30am and I’ve been fighting with GIMP for an hour and it still refuses to let me use the opacity slider! But anyway! The speakers were amazing and I want to thank Tots100 and TalkTalk for pulling together such awesome folks! Special thanks to TalkTalk for proving such an irresistible…erm…I mean informed PR!
I will hold my hands up and admit that I hadn’t read (or heard of *blush*) either of the bloggers who spoke before yesterday, but lord did they sell themselves! I got home and hunted them down on twitter, facebook and their blogs to stalk them all over the shop! It was really inspiring to hear such amazingly driven women speak and share their stories. If you want to follow the ladies you can find them as Bangs and a Bun and A Little Bird Told Me.
Of course the other side of these events is you get to be sociable! I met Nic again, and she was just as lovely the second time around! I also got to chat to some of the BDT girlies which was fab, especially as I chat to them daily on tinternet! But I also got to do a wee bit of bloggy celeb spotting! Oh yes, there were some blogging heavyweights knocking about (Cheshire Mum, Typecast and The Five Fs to name but a few) who I got to chat with! But my ultimate star stuck moment was with Josie, who may be teensy but still rocks my world! I’ve followed Josie’s blog since I started blogging, I have no idea how I found her but I fell in love with her straight away and, had I not been trying not to die, I would have Squeeed in her general direction! Yay for star struck hugs!
Ok, girly moment over!
Overall it was a really fab event and absolutely worth the agonising stomach cramps and hour on the toilet due to stress induced IBS when I got home! Now I intend to spend a week recovering from the emotional trauma of having a social life!
