I’ve started reading Fifty Shades of Grey.
I’ll let you judge me on that before I start the actual content of this post…
Right, are we all done with the laughter and stuff now? Then I shall begin!
I’ve read a lot of scathing review of that book, and of the whole trilogy in fact, and that’s fine, opinion is opinion, but several of the reviews and many of the tweets are along the lines of “I don’t have a problem with BDSM, but…” this is then followed by them slating kink in general or certain aspects of the lifestyle. That irritates me.
From what I’ve read so far, and this is not a review post, the book is a fair reflection on kink, specifically 24/7 relationships, especially ones I have been in, and being someone who makes a concious effort not to slate vanilla relationships I don’t take kindly to having my choices belittled.
Some women want to be submissive in the bedroom, some want to do it in their relationship all the time, some want to be dominant, some don’t really care all that much either way. None of it is any of your business unless you are in the relationship with that woman.
Next time you want to slate all women who are submissive maybe you should actually talk to a submissive woman about her choices first before making assumptions about why she made that decision and claiming she is destroying all that feminism fought for.
Leave me and my inner goddess to our chains!
